TALAISHIA COLLIS
PRINCIPAL SOLICITOR & PUBLIC NOTARY
Following the completion of her Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts degrees at the University of Wollongong in 2006, Talaishia was admitted as a solicitor to the Supreme Court of NSW in 2007.
After graduating in 2006, Talaishia was an Associate in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and then a Legal Officer in the Migration and Refugee Review Tribunal.
Talaishia returned to the Illawarra to commence private practice in 2008. Since that time, Talaishia has practiced extensively in all aspects of Family Law. She has also undertaken specialist training and has been appointed to Legal Aid NSW’s panel of Independent Children’s Lawyers. She is also a member of Legal Aid NSW’s Family Law panel.
Talaishia always aims to ensure that her client’s are fully informed of their rights and obligations. Her approach to legal matters ensures that you are kept informed in an easy to understand way and your matter is resolved as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Talaishia has extensive experience in appearing in the Local and District Courts of NSW, however she primarily advocates for her clients in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia.
After completing further specialist training with the College of Law, Talaishia was also appointed as a Public Notary by the Supreme Court of NSW and is able to attend to all of your Public Notary needs.
Talaishia is committed to assisting our local community. In 2012, Talaishia was elected to the Board of the Women Illawarra. From 2013 to 2020, Talaishia was appointed Chairperson of the Board. Talaishia also provides pro bono legal advice for client’s of Women Illawarra as well as providing advice and representation for clients of other local support services.
